On 16 February 2025, His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi convened a meeting with Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly and Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Dr. Ayman Ashour to follow up on the strategic projects implemented by the Ministry in support of national priorities.



Presidential Spokesman Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy stated that the meeting reviewed ongoing initiatives and the establishment of national and technological universities, digital transformation efforts, and the automation of higher education services. The Minister of Higher Education presented progress on the implementation of presidential directives concerning scientific Research and knowledge economy as well as institutional development and innovation.



President El-Sisi underscored the importance of enhancing the role of higher education institutions in generating applied research outputs that translate into products, services, and technologies with measurable impact on the national economy. He emphasized the promotion of a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship within universities, aligning academic activities with Egypt’s development priorities and transitioning towards a knowledge-based economy.



His Excellency the president directed continued efforts to integrate labor market needs into university curricula, build institutional capacity, and retain qualified academic talent—thus ensuring the sustainability and competitiveness of Egypt’s higher education sector.
